With the extra horsepower contained in the bigger engine you’re ultimately made to pay for prior to driving your new baby off the lot, can you perhaps tell a story of how you went on to win a car racing competition?
Of course, most of us aren’t so lucky, which makes a competitive spirit very important for becoming one of these winning stories. Winning can be very motivating and is perhaps the only way to finally accomplish our life goals. This is why people who win often share these amazing stories with others, especially car fanatics. One of those stories is told by a very successful businessman and former champion car racer, Ted Hastings, who won one of the most prestigious car races in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, back in 1999 with the Toyota Supra TF103 GTR-H of the Lexus Team Dynalite.
Talking about the amount of prize money that was on offer, Hastings shared the following:
“I had just sold one of my businesses for a substantial amount of money, but when you win the World Sports Car Championship, the L.A. Road Race or the Le Mans 24 Hour race, you’ve just won a huge amount of money. That’s not to say it doesn’t matter where you win the race, because it does. But it is a very good incentive to keep going.”
But it’s a story with a simple twist, or perhaps an unlikely one. Ted Hastings just happened to be a lucky man, yes he did win this race, but he went into this particular race completely unprepared, without even knowing much about sports cars. He basically just decided to jump in to one and race it, all on his own. Hastings had said of his situation:
“You have to be prepared to find the best car you can buy, test it and learn how to drive it. But if you don’t have the right sponsor for your entry, you don’t even start the race. In fact, you don’t even enter the race.”
What was interesting was that after winning the race, Ted Hastings himself decided not to get a new car, saying that he actually didn’t really need one because he had come into the race with the right one. The following is what he had to say:
“I didn’t need a new car after winning the race. In fact, I don’t think I want a new car. This one worked out well, so why ruin it?”
In fact, he kept the car and it is now on display at his offices in California.
So, in the same way that Hastings knows exactly what he’s getting into in terms of paying for certain vehicle features that add to the cost of the vehicle, when you merely try your luck on a new online casino you’ve come across, you should be sure to be getting actual value from any bonuses that are highlighted. So this means that this type of thinking can actually be applied in all areas of our lives and not just when it comes to something like purchasing a car.
